Despite earlier assurances, the House of Representatives on Wednesday failed to deliberate on President Bola Tinubu’s state of emergency declaration in Rivers State.

Today, the House of Representatives has approved the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, along with the six-month suspension of Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy, and all elected members of the assembly, as announced by President Bola Tinubu.

The seal of approval for the president’s proclamation came via voice vote during plenary on Thursday.
