A member of the House of Representatives, Alex Ikwechegh, on Sunday, assaulted an e-hailing (Bolt) driver who went to deliver a package to him.
The distressed driver whose name is yet unknown in a viral video filmed what transpired between them in Ikwecheghโs residence in Maitama, Abuja.
Mr. Ikwechegh, reportedly viewing this as disrespectful, expected the driver to bring the package directly into his Maitama residence in Abuja.
The driverโs refusal to do so allegedly led to an escalation, resulting in verbal and physical aggression from Mr. Ikwechegh.
The driver remained calm despite requesting payment for his service, which further intensified the dispute.
As of this report, the lawmaker has not issued any public response regarding the incident.
